Carterville Baptist Church will be hosting our annual Coaches’ meeting on Thursday, February 13th at 6:30 PM. Anyone interested in coaching is invited to attend. Dinner will be provided and Babe Ruth District Director and State Director will be present to discuss migration from Dixie Youth to Cal Ripken.
Babe Ruth Baseball and Cal Ripken baseball require all coaches to be certified through their online coaching education center. The fee is approximately $20.00. Petal Optimist Club strongly encourages all coaches to become certified prior to 2014 season opener. Certification will be optional for local league play this year as the transition is made to Cal Ripken; however, certification is mandatory for post season play. Going forward, coach certification will become mandatory for the Petal Optimist Club program. For more information, see http://www.baberuthcoaching.org/.
*Please be advised, background checks are required on all Petal Optimist Club coaches and volunteers.
Chicken dinners will not be sold on Opening Day this year; however, another fundraising opportunity will be available for those who wish to participate. Further information will be released as it is received.
